Our PVC pool covers can also be used to help retain the heat energy built up in your swimming pool when used alongside an inverter pool heat pump or solar panel heating system. As the efficiency of the heating system is dramatically improved, it further helps in reducing the overall running and long term maintenance costs.

Our standard PVC pool covers should only be used a secondary safety feature and should not solely be relied on to prevent drownings.

As rain or irrigation system water can accumulate and pool on the surface of the cover, this could potentially pose a drowning risk to babies or very young children.

There are however some circumstances in which a PVC pool cover can serve as an excellent secondary safety feature.

As these covers can withstand a weight of up to 150-kg, they can be used on irregular and asymmetrically shaped pools as a secondary line of defence where a standard safety cover can’t be installed. They can also be used alongside pool fencing to provide additional protection against pets, the elderly or young children falling into the pool.

In instances where no other safety system can be utilised around a swimming pool, a PVC cover will still provide a great deal of protection in just about all circumstances. One just needs to ensure that any water that may have pooled up on the cover is removed prior to allowing young children near the pool.

When it comes to safety around the swimming pool, it is always best practice to never allow youngsters, vulnerable pets or the elderly unsupervised for any period of time.
